Baxter opens the doors of Baxter Gallery New York, the brand’s new flagship store located in the heart of SoHo, one of New York’s most iconic neighborhoods.
More than an exhibition space, it is a place to inhabit and experience, conceived as a home-studio capable of evoking and reinterpreting the bohemian spirit that turned SoHo into an iconic district.
A former 350-square-metre industrial loft, spread over two levels, has been restored and transformed into a true factory: a cultural hub open to designers, architects, and creatives.
On the ground floor, cast-iron columns, restored to their essence, structure the space, dividing it into two distinct yet interacting areas. On one side, the gallery: silent, where materials barely breathe. Surfaces convey subtle vibrations, while a monumental Noren divider in raw linen — over four and a half metres tall and hand-decorated according to a design by Baxter’s Creative Department — introduces a suspended dimension. Here, the brand’s latest creations take shape alongside pieces that have defined its identity for years.
On the other side, the meeting space is dominated by a bespoke seven-metre table, the true heart of Baxter’s design experience. Surrounding this design station is a rich archive of surfaces and textures, in a continuous dialogue between materials, ideas, and possibilities.
The lower level unfolds as a ritualistic, almost symbolic passage. A staircase enclosed in a mirrored monolith — a conceptual nod to Carl Andre’s minimal art — leads to a space that completes the home-studio narrative. Here, every element contributes to delivering a total vision: a place that is both a physical space and an artistic manifesto.
