September marks a new chapter in Baxter's history with the opening of the Baxter Gallery Paris, the brand's first flagship store in France. In rue de Gribeauval, in the heart of Paris, a space has been created that goes beyond the concept of a showroom: a house to be explored slowly, where each room interprets the brand's identity.
Spanning three levels, the gallery takes visitors on a journey of materials, research and atmospheres. More than a sequence of exhibition spaces, it is a journey in which architecture, interior design and collections interact naturally.
The ground floor welcomes visitors with a space that has a strong character, built on an intense palette of burnt earth tones, deep burgundy, moss green and shades of sand. Textured surfaces alternate with veined marble, burnished metals and Italian herringbone parquet, while large wall decorations create a graphic landscape that amplifies the depth of the spaces.
This is where the pieces from the collection are displayed, presented in a way that brings together shapes, textures and colours, transforming the entrance into a first glimpse into the creative universe of Baxter.
Going up to the first floor, the rhythm changes and the atmosphere becomes more intimate. The showroom takes on the character of a contemporary Parisian flat, where a study, a dining area and a living room coexist in perfect harmony.
Some of Baxter's iconic furnishings are on display, such as the Viktor sofa, which with its soft and enveloping shapes becomes the focal point of the living room, or the Lagos table, with its marble top supported by antique-finish brass cylinders, dominating the dining area like a sculptural presence.
The colour palette features warm beige, ivory, soft greys and cocoa browns, whilst terracotta accents echo the city’s façades visible through the windows.
The journey ends in the basement, the most intimate level of the gallery. The palette becomes even deeper, playing on forest green, anthracite, leather and smoky tones that envelop the rooms in a soft light.
A second living area and the only sleeping area in the installation reveal the most private dimension of Baxter living: a peaceful place, where comfort arises from the combination of materials, generous volumes and carefully calibrated details.
