The new Baxter flagship store in Shanghai is part of an urban redevelopment project in one of the city’s most important fashion and design districts. The Baxter Gallery Shanghai is not just a 1,200-square-meter exhibition space, but also a place for gathering and socializing. Thanks to The Club, the space remains open in the evenings as a restaurant and bar, offering a more convivial experience of the location.
On the ground floor, the defining element is a mirrored red metal volume that cuts through the architectural shell, becoming the core around which the soul of the place revolves.
The store is a fluid space, where certain areas can be used both for exhibitions and dining, aiming to provide guests with a rich and varied experience.
The upper floor continues the display of furniture in various settings, alternating between wide open areas and more intimate living spaces.
The focal point of the entire project is the Baxter House, a space designed as a meeting point between design professionals and Baxter. The large material library, featuring all of Baxter’s materials and others used in design—from wall surfaces to flooring—tells the story of the company and offers creative inspiration.
