The Ray armchair, designed by Baxter P., is a design exercise that defies gravity, transforming the concept of seating into a suspended sculpture. Its distinctive feature lies in the base architecture: three legs that converge in a metallic embrace, creating a visual anchor point that supports the entire volume with apparent lightness. At the heart of Ray is a large, welcoming cushion that seems to float above the metal frame. This contrast between the rigor of the structure and the enveloping softness of the seat creates a dynamic suspension effect: an invitation to surrender to total, almost ethereal comfort. Thanks to its sculptural aesthetic and fluid geometry, Ray breaks traditional armchair conventions, becoming an iconic piece capable of fitting into any environment with a discreet yet magnetic presence.
