Baxter’s exquisite Fringes rug is named after the interwoven side fringes that characterise its design. The distinctive feature of Fringes, however, lies in the manual technique with which the mantle is spun and finished: a long and painstaking process, which is carried out by combining high-quality naturally occurring vegetable silks, including soya, banana and bamboo. The plant-based fabrics that make up the surface and the fringes are knotted by hand using wooden frames, creating textures rich in detail and light reflections rendered sublime by the four available colour palettes.
