Baxter’s Aran rug exudes originality and expertise in every detail. From the rug’s irregular shape to the contrast of the two materials used (natural hemp and viscose), Aran is a hymn to creativity and traditional skill. From a fibre of humble origins, hemp is refined here by the special processing of the rug, which is entirely hand-knotted and hand-sewn in Nepal and attains an extraordinary lustre and softness thanks to the skilful addition of viscose. The four heights of the pile, cut into irregular shapes and finished by hand, create three-dimensional patterns and textures that contrast in the various textured surfaces, lending a sense of liveliness and movement.
