For the London Design Festival 2019, the architect and designer Paola Navone discusses her rich history with Baxter and the iconic products created for the Italian design house, in the exquisitely designed King's Road Silvera showroom.
Celebrating this ongoing relationship, she discusses the process behind the many number of iconic products and spaces which have been born out of her fifteen-year collaboration with Baxter.
Chaired by design editor Becky Sunshine, the talk will look back at Paola Navone’s extraordinary career and the cultural influences that have shaped her work. Inspired by her travels all over the world, particularly to Asia and Africa, she is widely recognized as a global designer. The architect will also delve into the themes explored in her recent book "Tham ma da: The Adventurous Interiors of Paola Navone", exploring how she incorporates 'Tham ma da', the Thai concept which takes something ordinary and presents it in a new and exciting way, in her projects and design pieces.
As a stockist of Baxter furniture, including some pieces which Paola Navone has designed for the brand, Silvera presented a never-before-seen Baxter showcase across its ground floor.
Among the upholstered: Chester Moon, Panama Bold, Budapestair, Sorrento, Artik and the unmissable little armchair Nepal. But also pieces from the Open Air collection: Manila, Matera, Malacca, Ischia and Phoenix.
