Forest green, olive green, ivory, air force blue, iroko wood: at the Baxter Outdoor Gallery, there is the whole palette of an oasis between the Mediterranean and the Equator. The 2023 restyling retains the atmosphere of a secret garden, embellished with plant compositions and artefacts from around the world, while leaving plenty of room for new compositions and finishes.
Of the vast ground floor, a generous portion is reserved for the inviting volumes of Studiopepe’s Narciso sofa, presented in a modular version and in the new Tressage Vert fabric. A little further on, beyond the Mr Hide screen by Studiopepe, the sculptural presence of the Judd table, made entirely of Salar Stone, is mirrored in the polished finish of the Linfa chair base.
The other half of the ground floor also features a conversation area alternating with a dining area, decorated in shades of green - the respective protagonists are the Nairobi coffee tables and the Himba chairs by Roberto Lazzeroni; the new black iroko finish emphasises their understated, synthetic style.
Heading up to the mezzanine area, the same Himba collection shows us a different side: in the living room, the base of the sofa is in natural iroko and the predominant colours are purple, air force blue and grey, which we also find, a little further on, in the Girgenti sofa by Antonino Sciortino.
Matt and shiny surfaces, woven fabrics and polished leathers alternate harmoniously, hinting at days spent in the open air.
