The Pluvia leather is born from the will to create an article dedicated expressly to outdoor. It deals with a natural leather of big thickness, also suitable for the carrying out of hanging seats, able to well resist to the repeated action of atmospheric agents.
TANNING AND MANUFACTURING
The peculiarity of this leather, unique in its way, lies above all in its thickness of about 4 mm. It is a nabucked leather with 100% vegetable tanning, then dyed in seeping aniline; during the dying phase, some mineral oils are added to make this leather perfectly water-repellent and, as a consequence, suitable for outdoor use.
In case of a continuous and prolonged exposure to atmospheric agents we recommend, as far as one can, removing the water excesses that could settle on leather’s surface. This is a simple but important procedure that prevents brackish water from seeping through leather’s fibres. Actually, in spite of its waterrepellence, leather maintains its transpiring properties. If exposed repeatedly to sunlight and rain water, Pluvia leathers undergo an ageing process on colour and on the structure of the vegetable fibre that enhances its naturalness. Actually this leather is in continuous evolution, and suits and adapts to any external spur.
