The Heritage leather was born from Baxter’s desire to rediscover the taste and the tradition of entirely hand manufactured leather, as leather was once processed: important thickness, opacity and waxing. Tradition and modernity are coupled with manufacturing methods of past times combined with a choice of fresh colors that give the product a touch of modernity.
TANNING AND MANUFACTURING PROCESSES
Carried out on half hides, this article is chrome tanned and vegetable re-tanned and then dyed in seeping aniline. The Heritage leathers are characterized by a lightening effect, that is by that interplay of colour shades that arise as a consequence of each movement. It is actually a leather which moves continuously and adapts to every external stimulus, always creating ever different colour interplays. The characteristic effect of transparency and depth also comes from the special wax finish, an exclusive colour palette and a different absorption degree by the different parts of leather. The hide’s past life, visible through scratches, scars, wrinkles and scrapes are typical characteristics of this extremely natural leather.
In case of slight scratches or abrasions on the surface, typical of waxed leathers, it is possible to act on them by using a soft dry cloth. Indeed, rubbing lightly on the part to be treated, the original appearance of the leather can be restored.
