In 1995 the Antique leather was by far the first article to be presented, marking a turning point for the company and becoming one of its main strength points. It represents the greatest expression of grain naturalness and of softness on noticeable thicknesses.
TANNING AND MANUFACTURING
Carried out on bull leathers of big thickness, it is worked full-grain with a chrome tanning and then it is re-tanned with vegetable tanning to enhance its grain. Finally a skilful and peculiar hand-buffering gives leather a warm and deep aspect, getting a colour-shade effect, unique in their own way. In addition to this phase, there’s also an ageing procedure, carried out by craftsmen inside the company, that allows to create a product according to customer’s request, attenuating or underlining the lived aspect of leather itself.
Antique leather is undoubtedly easy
to maintain. Actually you don’t need peculiar treatments, it will be enough to wipe the whole leather surface with a simple cloth, woollen if possible. It’s through this kind of leather that Baxter became well known for its quality, as a company that makes leather become its own image. Whoever buys an Antique leather has the certainty to receive a unique and exclusive product, suitable for every taste.
